Stanley Electric was founded in Japan in 1920 for the purpose of manufacturing and selling automobile lamps. Presently, we boast an unchallenged share of the market as a manufacturer of automobile lighting equipment. Also, in 1976 we were the first company in the world to commercialize high bright LEDs, which are now used in a wide range of fields. LEDs have evolved together with Stanley, and are creating a world of plentiful light which is kind to the environment.
The name of our company comes from the name of the explorer Sir Henry Morton Stanley who left mighty footprints on the African continent in the latter half of the 19th century, and was noted for his foresight and courageous determination and energy – traits which have parallels with our spirit of enterprise.
スタンレーは1920年自動車電球の製造・販売を目的に日本で創業されました。現在では自動車用灯具メーカーとして揺るぎないシェアを誇っています。また、半導体・電子部品の分野では、1976年に世界に先駆け高輝度ＬＥＤを事業化し、幅広い分野で採用されています。 更にＬＥＤはスタンレーと共に進化し環境にやさしい豊かな光の世界を創出します。
社名の由来は当社の創業精神に通じる“先見性”と“勇気ある決断・行動力”をもって、19世紀後半、アフリカ大陸に偉大な足跡を残した探検家ヘンリー・モルトン・スタンレー卿の名前に由来したものです。
